Italian Level A2+ – Course Overview
Italian Level A2+ is tailored for students who have mastered the basics and are ready to deepen their linguistic abilities. This course will strengthen your ability to handle a wider range of everyday situations, improve your understanding of Italian grammar, and enable you to participate in more meaningful conversations.
Topics Covered:
- Talking About the Past and Future
Expand your knowledge of the past tenses, especially the imperfetto, and use the future tense with more ease to talk about past experiences and future plans.
- Describing People, Places, and Experiences
Improve your ability to give more detailed descriptions of people, places, and experiences, using a richer vocabulary and more complex sentence structures.
- Giving Advice and Making Suggestions
Learn how to give advice, express suggestions, and make polite requests using modal verbs like dovere, potere, and volere.
- Discussing Everyday Problems
Gain vocabulary and phrases to discuss issues and problems you encounter in daily life, such as health, work, and travel.
- Engaging in More Complex Conversations
Participate in conversations that go beyond simple exchanges. Talk about abstract topics like preferences, culture, and emotions in greater detail.
- Exploring Italian Culture and Traditions
Engage with authentic cultural material, such as Italian traditions, celebrations, and local customs, to deepen your understanding of Italian life.
Skills Acquired:
- Listening & Speaking: You will improve your ability to understand longer spoken passages and engage in more nuanced conversations, discussing a wider range of topics in everyday life.
- Reading & Writing: Read more complex texts such as short articles, interviews, and personal stories. Write short essays and letters, providing opinions and explanations.
Learning Outcomes:
By completing Italian Level A2+, you will be able to:
- Use both the imperfetto and passato prossimo to narrate past events, and the future tense to describe future intentions.
- Handle everyday situations with increased confidence, such as giving advice, making suggestions, and solving problems.
- Engage in conversations about a broader range of topics, expressing feelings, preferences, and opinions with greater ease.
- Understand and produce texts related to personal interests and everyday situations, with improved grammatical accuracy.
