Italian Level B2 – Course Overview
Italian Level B2 is designed for students who already have solid command of the language and are ready to deepen their proficiency and enhance their confidence in more nuanced and abstract communication. This course helps students move beyond everyday conversation and begin to interact fluently in both informal and formal contexts, including academic and professional settings.
Arguing and Expressing Opinions with Nuance
Learn to express your point of view more clearly and persuasively, agree and disagree diplomatically, and use rhetorical strategies to participate in debates or structured discussions.
Describing Complex Experiences and Cultural Topics
Discuss abstract or culturally rich topics such as art, society, traditions, and current affairs, using more sophisticated vocabulary and sentence structures.
Interacting in Academic and Professional Contexts
Improve your ability to take part in meetings, interviews, and presentations, as well as write formal correspondence or summarize complex content.
Advanced Grammar Structures
Master advanced grammar topics including the congiuntivo imperfetto and trapassato congiuntivo, periodo ipotetico of second and third type, and passive voice.
Analyzing and Interpreting Authentic Texts
Engage with a variety of authentic materials like opinion pieces, editorial columns, podcasts, and short stories to expand your comprehension and cultural awareness.
Listening & Speaking:
Understand extended speech and lectures, even when the structure isn’t clearly organized. Communicate fluently and spontaneously without much strain for either you or your conversation partner.
Reading & Writing:
Read complex texts, including literary and academic content, identifying tone, style, and implicit meaning. Write clear, detailed texts on a wide range of subjects, offering well-structured arguments and viewpoints.
By completing Italian Level B2, you will be able to:
Interact fluently with native speakers in a variety of contexts, including social, academic, and professional situations.
Express ideas and opinions clearly, with nuance and stylistic variety, on both concrete and abstract topics.
Understand the main ideas and many details of complex texts and spoken discourse, including idiomatic expressions and cultural references.
Produce coherent, well-structured written texts appropriate to the context and audience.
